A two-time WCW champion, Lex Luger hailed from Buffalo, New York, and was a former bodybuilder before becoming a professional wrestler in the mid-1980s. At various times, Luger was known as "The Narcissist," "The All-American" and "The Total Package." In 1987, Luger captured the NWA/WCW United States Heavyweight Title after defeating Nikita Koloff and later joined forces with Barry Windham to capture the NWA Tag Team Titles (the two wrestlers would soon start a feud of their own). During The Great American Bash in 1991, Luger defeated Windham in a steel cage match to capture the vacant WCW World Title (he won the title once again in 1997 after defeating Hulk Hogan). Over the past few years, Luger has been plagued with a series of legal and health problems, as well as personal tragedies, including the death of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Hulette ("Miss Elizabeth"), in 2003.
