Born in Nuku'Alofa, Tonga, Sione Havea Vailahi competed as a Sumo wrestler in Japan before moving to the United States and making his wrestling debut against Killer Karl Krupp in 1980. He soon became a well-known "heel" in the wrestling world under the name "Konga the Barbarian" and then simply "The Barbarian." The Barbarian soon joined up with the Warlord to form the Powers of Pain tag team in the WWF. In 1992, The Barbarian joined the WCW and formed a tag team known as The Faces of Fear with Meng that became part of Kevin Sullivan's notorious Dungeon of Doom. The Barbarian currently runs a construction business in Charlotte, North Carolina.
