One of the most violent, sadistic, bloodiest and truly maniacal professional wrestlers of all time (his trademark weapon was a fork!), Abdullah the Butcher took hardcore wrestling to its extreme! Sometimes known as "The Madman from the Sudan," Abdullah the Butcher was also an amateur martial artist who actually hailed from Canada. Abdullah the Butcher is currently the owner of Abdullah the Butcher's House of Ribs & Chinese Food in Atlanta, Georgia. He still occasionally competes on the independent circuit.
[Editor's Note: Abdullah the Butcher is actually alive and well!]
This is THE BADDEST,MEANEST,PSYCHO-DUDE to ever grace the ssquared circle,PERIOD!!!!!
abdullah was just as crazy in the ring as THE SHEIK, but ABDULLAH has a resturant in ATLANTA ga. and they say he is real polite to his customers
i met him a couple of years ago and he is a real gentleman. total opposite to his ring persona.his friends say the same also.a man of great class.he willingly obliges for photos and is surprisingly soft spoken and very intelligent
So..which is it, alive or died in June 2008??

My brother went the house of ribs 3 nights ago and said he talked to abdullah for over 30 minutes while he waited for his order. Me and my wife love the bar b que there.
Alive? He just retired in April this year
Funny thing about pro wrestlers - if they're out of sight for a while, people automatically assume they died. That's what's so cool about your website. This gives the fans the straight stuff about the whereabouts of some of wrestling's greats from the not-too-distant past. (P.S.: whatever happened to former AWA and WWA Indian wrestler Billy Red Cloud? He's one I can't get any information about.)
Just heard some mondo bizarro news: It would appear that Abdullah is making another comeback for the Insane Clown Posse's indie promotion, Juggalo Wrestling. Not sure when it's happening though. Let's all hope Mr. Shreve comes to his senses because 70+ is too old to keep making comebacks.
Actually a fork wasn't Abdullah the butcher weapon of choice in the ring. It was sharpened pencils. To which he liked to rake the forehead of his opponents, and he wasn't above biting his opponents in the same area.
I have one of those sharpened pencils that he would use. His opponent,I think Terry Funk, took it from him and threw it out of the ring and I grabbed it. This happened in Amarillo, TX in the 1970's.
I've met abdullah--one of the nicest guys
i just recently got him as a friend on Facebook.
I hered from a reliable source a former 80 YO pro wrestler that ABBY DIED 3 MONTHS AGO. They have been keeping it silent becuase promotors and the guys behind the scen had him wreslte when he had alzimers. Cn ay one confirm if this is true?
As a jobber with WCW back in the arly 90's I had the opportunity to work Abby along with Cactus Jack. They were both truly "Old School and Hardcore".I enjoyed working with both of them I recieved some great pointers from them both
I wish he would come out of retirement just long enough to permanently end Hogan's career. You know, have a li'l mishap with a fork and oops! Yeah. And maybe Austin Idol could show up and slap the Figure Four on Hulk like he used to back in the good ol' Mid-South days. Well, a guy who truly hates Hogan can dream, can't he?
Isn't Abdullah The Butcher coming back to wrestling.
I watch this beast wrestle for 21yr And I still say he is the toughest S.O.B in the planet. As a former Pro. Wrestler myself if I gotten In the ring with him. It would B an honor to battle the fat man from sudan Keep up the good work abdulah
Rumors are that Abdullah has hep c. I wish him well if it's true. This has been rolling around the net for a while. I am just relaying what I have read and that's the reason why so many wrestlers won't work with him. Don't shoot the messager. Has anyone herd this? Watching his matches sure make it seem possible.
"Beat them don't eat them!" This guy was scary!!!
