An intimidating presence to say the least, legendary wrestler Bruiser Brody stood 6 feet, 8 inches and weighed in at 285 pounds. He was known for his hardcore style of wrestling that would later influence such professional wrestlers as The Predator, Mick Foley and Necro Butcher, among others. According to Harley Race, "If you were in the ring with [Brody], if you didn't have the guts to cut him off, he'd just eat you alive." Tragically, in circumstances that remain mysterious to this day, Bruiser Brody was stabbed to death in a dressing room before a match in Puerto Rico in 1988.
Bruiser Brody will always be my favorite wrestler of all time. I saw him wrestle Harley Race in Laredo Texas, one of my favorite memories.
the circumstances of his death are not unsolved, just unpunished. he was stabbed by Jose Gonzales (aka Invader 1)in the locker room, and b/c even the American witness' were "to afraid" to go back to testify Gonzales was acquitted & walked away free. those same Americans however did return to Puerto Rico to wrestle after all was said and done, ironically for and with Jose Gonzales.
I remember this great entertainer when he wrestled under the name of Frank Goodish in the New Orleans LA area. He was awesome to see back then. It's ashame his killer will go unpunished!!!!
Bruiser Brody was by far the most intense, insane, barbaric wrestler to ever live. His matches with Abdullah the Butcher will go down as legend. Ask the people of Japan how intimidating this guy was. Today's stars such as Mick Foley, Abyss, Raven and others owe alot to Bruiser Brody
Apparently "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez sent a "receipt" to Gonzalez in the form of a brutal in-ring legit beating to one of the other Invaders who worked for that promotion shortly after Brody's stabbing. YouTube has the footage of it and it is one of the most disturbing videos you will ever see. Fernandez jumps off the top rope THREE times and lands on the Invader's chest and sternum every time. After the second landing Invader begins to hack up blood; after the third one he begins spewing MASSIVE quantities of blood from his mouth - Invader suffered a ruptured sternum and punctured lungs from the incident.

In the AWA he was known as King Kong Brody
I used to watch Wrestling at the Chase and went to all the St. Louis live shows. Sam Muchnick was the promoter. I seen every Ric Flair VS King Kong Bruiser Brody title match in St.louis.There was no like Brody there still isn't.Sorry he's gone!!!!!!!
FYI, the thing with Manny Fernandez brutally injured Invader 3 was a total WORK. If those injuries were real, he would've died. If you look closely, Manny's knees, specially the second and third time, did NOT land flush on him. The injury angle was donde because Invader 3 needed surgery at the time. BTW, he returned not too long to "avenge" Manny.
