"Boogie Woogie Man"
Born in Tennessee, Jimmy Valiant started wrestling in 1964 as Big Jim Valen, which morphed into Handsome Jimmy Valiant when he wrestled for the World Wide Wrestling Federation in the 1970s. He soon formed a dominant tag team with his "brother," Johnny Valiant. One of the dominant wrestlers in Memphis, Valiant feuded with the likes of Jerry Lawler and even recorded a song, "The Ballad of Handsome Jimmy." In the 1980s, Valiant morphed once again into "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant. Today, Valiant runs Boogie's Wrestling Camp in Shawsville, Virginia.
Jimmy V. wass ripped off by Hulk Hogan, both in look, gimmick and style.

I watched Handsome Jimmy for many years, he was the ultimate idea of a great wrestler and performer. Some of the matches he had with Jerry Lawler were legendary and I miss seeing him today. My friends Nicknamed me Handsome Jimmy in junior high because I could talk like him and we wrestled a lot in the backyard. Jimmy will always be my all time favorite wrestler and I wish him the very best. Whereever you are Jimmy I love ya man.
Whooooooooooo Mercy Handsome Jimmy The Best catch phrase every in wrestling. Much better than Hulkamania. You are the man Handsome Jimmy Valiant, truly the boogie woogie man of all time. Love cocoaine katie
I met Handsome Jimmy when he did some shows for my brother Killer at Mid-South wrestling in Gibson Tennessee. I got to know Jimmy as a friend and that friend ship means so much to me. Boggie love ya Brother' Your friend Jimmy Valentine.
One of the beat tag matches I saw back in the '70s was the WWWF tag team championship match in 1975 with Jimmy and Johnny Valiant against Victor Rivera and Domenic DeNucci. Great match - very rare for that era because it was 2 out of 3 falls, and quite bloody too. Near the end of the second fall Jimmy got opened up, and at the start of the 3rd fall Johnny bit DeNucci's forehead open. The Valiant brothers were champions for over a year and had feuded with several teams, but always seemed to hold on to the belts.
Handsome Jimmy is the man,he is the best talker in the biz.high energy and lots of class. i met him acouple of years ago he and his wife Angel are the nicest people. I love ya brother.
i remember boogie woogie man in the mid atlantic area i had the pleasure of seeing him in person in charlotte nc, and greensboro nc, and his battles with the great kabuki, and paul jones and others i miss those good ol days seemed wrestling was better back then wish we could bring those days back jimmy valiant a true legend of all time
I remember as a very small child sitting in my living room floor fighting over the TV when it came time for the Boogie Woogie Man to wrestle. That was back in the early 80s and I am still watching WWE today. I miss you Boogie Woogie Man!! God Bless and stay safe.
I loved watching him when he was the manager of the Texas Chain gang and others. A great entertainer.
