A true master of catch wrestling techniques, British wrestler Billy Robinson began his amateur wrestling career in England and was the British National Wrestling Champion in 1957. The following year, Robinson captured the European Open Wrestling Championship in the light heavyweight class and over the next several years learned catch wrestling from legendary trainer, Billy Riley, at his training facility, known as "The Snake Pit." In 1970, Robinson began wrestling for the American Wrestling Association (AWA) and became AWA British Empire Heavyweight Champion. Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Robinson enjoyed a successful professional wrestling career throughout North America, Asia and Europe.
