Luke Williams was one half of the outrageous tag team, along with Butch Miller, that first wrestled as "The Sheepherders" on the independent circuit and later as "The Bushwhackers" in the World Wrestling Federation during their long and productive professional wrestling careers. Williams started wrestling for NWA New Zealand in 1964 and later joined Stampede Wrestling, teaming up with Miller as "The Kiwis." The duo captured the Stampede International Tag Team Championship in 1974. As the "Kiwi Sheepherders," Williams and Miller won the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship three times in 1979 and 1980, as well as the NWA Canadian Tag Team Championship.
After capturing numerous tag team titles during the 1980s - including the WWC Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship, WWC North American Tag Title Championship, SWCW World Tag Team Championship, UWF Tag Team Championship, CWA/AWA International Tag Team Championship and NWA Florida Tag Team Championship - the duo signed on with the World Wrestling Federation in 1989 as "The Bushwhackers" and promptly defeated The Fabulous Rougeaus at WrestleMania V. The Bushwhackers would go on to make memorable appearances at 1989 Survivor Series, 1990 Royal Rumble, WrestleMania VI, Survivor Series 1990, 1991 Royal Rumble, 1991 Summer Slam, 1991 Survivor Series and 1992 Royal Rumble. In 1996, The Bushwhackers made their last appearance while under contract for the WWF.
